OUR MALIBU SITE AT THE SYCAMORE SCHOOL
Nestled in beautiful Las Flores Canyon, our Malibu location is off of PCH just up the road from Dukes Restaurant. This beautiful gem of a private school is the perfect environment for exploring art and nature. Each morning we head down a short trail to the flowing creek alongside the campus where we search for tadpoles, wade in the water, build forts and fairy houses, hunt for crystals, go on scavenger hunts, listen to stories and draw in our sketchbooks.
At our Sycamore site we experience cooler Malibu weather and have access to indoor classrooms and a maker space where we build and assemble mixed media art. There's a kitchen where we bake, a beloved play structure, a garden where we plant and make art, fields to run and play and leafy Sycamore trees that provide shade. Shari Davis directs the Malibu site.
The Sycamore School is a private K-5 school that develops "growth mindsets which help to build gritty, empathetic, curious, and reflective learners." For parents interested in learning more about the school, they are holding campus tours. The address is 3504 Las Flores Canyon Rd, Malibu

OUR CALABASAS SITE AT THE MUSE GLOBAL SCHOOL
Surrounded by the Santa Mountains, our MUSE campus is across the road from Malibu Creek Park and up the hill from the exquisite Hindu Temple (which we sometimes hike to). In a former life, this campus was a popular Valley sleep away camp called Cotton Tale Ranch.
At MUSE, the campus is a little larger, there are more kids and the weather is a bit warmer than at our Malibu site (although we do get sea breezes). The hikes are more extensive as there are longer, interconnected trails weaving along the ridges. We have an air conditioned indoor lodge, a commercial kitchen where we bake cookies, an outdoor amphitheater, and a pool for afternoon swimming. There's an abundant garden, special hiking spots where we build forts and make labrynths, fields to run in, a basketball court and swings and climbing structures. And there's "the hill" which our campers joyfully run up and slide down whenever there's a free moment :)
The MUSE Global School is a holistic pre-school through 12th grade which teaches "communication, self-efficacy, and sustainability through passion-based learning." Their team is happy to answer questions about their school. The address is 1666 Las Virgenes Canyon Rd, Calabasas.
