TRAIL DETAILS
- 🌿 Tuesday, Jan. 3rd-- Meet at King Gillette Ranch, Corner of Las Virgenes & Mulholland, Calabasas
Our familiar, previous camp location, there are wonderful trails and vistas, meadows for art making and time for fort building (from branches) at "Wildcraft Village". We'll meet behind the Visitors Center picnic tables before we hit the trail.
🌿 Wednesday, Jan. 4th--Meet at Viewridge Road Trail, Topanga (a short ways past "Top of Topanga")
One of our favorite trails we hike weekly with a diverse and magical landscape. There are two clearings under the giant oaks with swings, a bridge, an hidden place with "archeological discoveries", a stone labyrinth and more!
🌿 Friday, Jan. 6th--Meet at Tapia Park on Las Virgenes Road, Pick up at Malibu Creek Park
We'll meet at the picnic tables at Tapia Park, off Las Virgenes Road (a short way past the turnoff to our MUSE campus). Filled with giant oaks, we will have our Opening Circle and hike on a beautiful trail that leads to a quiet and magical part of Malibu Creek Park. We will spend time making art at the picnic tables there, building forts and playing games under the mighty oaks. - NOTE ABOUT BATHROOMS: Campers need to be comfortable using "nature's bathroom" on these hikes. A portable potty will also be accompanying the hikers which we will place at a private spot. At Tapia Park and King Gillette Ranch there are bathrooms where we begin and end the day. There are no bathrooms (except the "portable potty") for the Viewridge Trail hike.
- RAIN PLANS: Rain will cancel and refunds or credit for summer camp will be provided. A group text will be sent by 7:30am to confirm if camp is cancelled due to rain.
