Ways to Extend the Creative Exploration
- Keep drawing! Try drawing something new every day. Use your china marker, pencil, colored pencils or whatever you like. Look for the 4 shapes you learned: cone, sphere, cylinder and cube and discover the hidden wonder in everyday things.
- Go out and explore with your art supplies. Take your watercolors, brushes and paper with you on a hike, to the park, or a walk around the block. Look closely at the plants and trees, birds and animals around you. Find a place to sit and paint, or take photos and use them to paint them back home.
- Design new "wild worlds" off the wooden board--use your imagination and things you find in nature and at home. Build an imaginary world for small toys using sticks, leaves, rocks, and art work you add to the scene.
- Create a little studio space where you can keep your art supplies out and ready. When your supplies are visible and handy it invites you to return and make more!
- Make art together--parents and kids. Grownups need art too! Studies show that making art actively decreases stress and increases well being.
